I have been using alpha-lipoic acid for years to help me with blood sugar stabilization. Only recently have I learned how beneficial the R-lipoic Acid is. I have educated my sister, who is diabetic, and she now uses the R-Lipoic Acid to ward off diabetic neuropathy in her feet. We wouldn't be without it!

I cannot recommend R-Lipoic acid enough. This is a wonderful supplement for aiding the processes of healing, health, energy, strength training, gaining muscle, and reducing inflammation. Combine with a healthy diet. I take this together with acetyl L-carnitine, as I think the two of them have good synergy. Jarrow produces high quality supplements with simple ingredients.

The only ALA I would recommend. Pricier but R form of ALA is more stable and bio available. I agree with another reviewer in its efficacy in breaking down fatty acids, "burning fat" . Took 1 bottle of this vs 1 bottle of normal form of ALA, and feel this suppresses my sugar urges a bit better. I take this on an empty stomach every morning (30 min before breakfast). Hope this helps you decide on your what to get.. if my review is helpful, kindly give me a thumbs up. Thank you

Best alpha lipoic I've tried so far, and I've tried several. The non-stabilized ones are already largely polymerized by the time you get them in the mail and it's not good having 'plastic' particles leak into your blood stream. And of the stabilized versions, one I couldn't tell if it did much, the other was noticeable but not that much, and this one by Jarrow hits the mark and works verifiably. Hence I will get this from now on.

My nutritionist suggested this because I am a vegetarian and have MTHFR. I haven't noticed a significant difference in anything that I can directly attribute to this supplement because I take it with several other things. I do know that when I miss this I feel more fatigued so I assume it is helping. I have not tried any other brands for this particular nutrient.

As with any supplement, I would strongly suggest reading scientific literature to make an educated decision. Personally, I'm using it as a backup for the pandemic due to it's cellular energy(primarily)/anti-oxidant/anti-inflammatory effects. (due to links in the kerbs & citric cycle) There are studies of it being used for adhd too. R-Ala's an omega fatty acid like epa/dha, but the conversion rate into epa/dha isn't good (< 6%.). Genes and ratio of omega depending on one's diet affect the conversion too. The addition of biotin in this is unfortunate since it's common in other supplements..

This brand has made a great Alpha lipoic acid product as it uses the right form for better absorption. It is easy to take and it has many health benefits - good antioxidants and detox support.
